Hi!  My name is Tia Turner, this is my 17th year in as the Educational Technology Specialist at Petroglyph Elementary. Previously I was a classroom teacher for 8 years. I love Ed Tech because I work with all students and staff to transform education through technology and bring 21st century learning to your children.

All of our classrooms have an Interactive Whiteboard, 5 computers, and 5 iPads for student use.  During their weekly computer lab class students learn specialized skills and work on creative projects with their teachers.  These tools and experiences help students research, create, communicate and practice 21st century skills to enrich their education.

The activities we offer for your children to use at home are on the Petroglyph student web site. (  The educational resources we subscribe to are Discovery Education, BrainPop, BrainPop Jr., Sumdog, Starfall, Tumblebooks and Tumble Cloud Jr.  There are many free web sites listed as well. We hope you take advantage of these fun and educational resources this year!

I love this article about getting and keeping kids interested in coding.
